Mosa Wild hit us with a new single to accompany the announcement of their new EP, dropping in the spring of 2022. ‘Expect Me’ is a down-tempo track that lends itself to a soulful, memorable singalong. Restrained organ and punchy drums are the only accompaniment to the band’s vocals for the first two minutes, but a horn section deliver some melancholy, almost hypnotic melodies as we build into the euphoric textures of the track’s conclusion. “I wanted the verses to feel like a hymn you know well, and the outro to feel like a hug that you don’t want to end,” they say, and they hit the nail on the head. -Dan Peeke
